It covers the capriole.ai website, the Capriole AI API and the Capriole AI apps for iPhone and Android. Capriole AI is operated by Capriole Australia PTY LTD ("Capriole", "we"). ## What we collect * **Account:** your email address, name and profile picture, through our sign-in provider Clerk, or from Google if you sign in with Google. Your Capriole account is shared with Capriole Quant. * **Chats:** your messages, attached files, created images and chat titles. Where they are kept depends on your storage choice. * **Personalization:** the name, work and instructions you add to your account. * **Voice input:** recordings you make for dictation, which we send for transcription without storing the audio or the text. The app uses your camera, photos or microphone only when you attach a picture, save an image or dictate. * **Usage records:** for each chat and API request, the time, model, token counts, status, latency, cost and your IP address, plus the key used for API requests. These records do not contain your messages. * **API:** the API keys you create. We do not keep API request or response content. * **Payments:** Stripe, Apple or Google process your payment. We receive your subscription status and billing identifiers, not your card number. * **Device and website data:** IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, and cookies. If you arrive through an ad or a tagged link, we save its campaign details, landing page and referrer to your account when you sign up. * **Support:** what you send us by email. ## Your storage choice * **Server Storage** (default): chats, attachments and created images are saved to your account on our servers and sync across devices. * **Local Storage:** chat history stays in your browser or on your device, not in our database. Uploads and image creation are off. * **No Storage:** chat history is not saved. Uploads and image creation are off. In every mode, your messages pass through our servers to the AI model that answers them, and we keep the usage record. Guest chats are not saved on our servers; a copy stays in your browser tab so it can be saved to your account if you sign in. ## How we use information * To run Capriole AI: answer messages, create images, transcribe voice, search the web when a model needs it, and save chats as you choose. * To manage plans, limits, billing and Teams. * To prevent abuse, fraud and security incidents. * To send service emails, such as welcome emails, Team invites and Team usage alerts, and to answer support requests. * To measure website visits and the results of our ads. We do not use your chats, files or API content to train AI models. ## Who receives information * **AI model providers** (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Z.ai and Moonshot AI, or cloud platforms that host their models) receive what each request needs: your messages, files, voice recordings and chat context, plus your time zone and an approximate location based on it. They handle it under their own terms. * **Infrastructure and routing providers** carry requests to the model providers. * **Search providers**, such as Tavily, receive the search queries a model makes. A weather provider receives the place you ask about, or your IP address if you do not name one. * **Service providers:** Amazon Web Services (servers, database and files), Vercel (website hosting and analytics), Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (web payments), Apple, Google Play and RevenueCat (app purchases), Resend (email), and monitoring tools that help us find and fix errors. * **Analytics and advertising:** Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics) and LinkedIn, through tags on our website. * **Your Team:** its owners and admins see your email, role and Team API usage. * **Others** when the law requires it, to protect people or our rights, or in a sale or restructuring of our business. We do not sell your personal information. ## Cookies and analytics We use cookies and browser storage for sign-in, your theme, language and storage choice, and to remember which notices you have seen. Vercel Web Analytics measures visits, and the Google and LinkedIn tags measure ads and visits and may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but sign-in needs its cookies. ## How long we keep information * **Saved chats**, with their attachments and created images, stay until you delete them or your account is deleted. Deleting a chat, or Delete all chat history, permanently removes them from our servers. Deleted data can remain in database backups for up to 7 days. * **Chat exports** can be downloaded for 24 hours. * **Local Storage chats** stay in your browser or device until you clear them. * **Voice recordings** are not kept. * **Usage and billing records** are kept as long as needed for billing, tax, security and legal reasons. ## Your choices and rights * Choose your storage mode, delete chats and export your chat history in Settings. * To delete your account, email [info@capriole.ai](mailto:info@capriole.ai). Because the account is shared with Capriole Quant, this also ends your Capriole Quant sign-in. * Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your information, or to object to some uses. Email us to use them. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or your local data protection authority. ## Security and transfers We use encrypted connections, private file storage and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure.
